WAYS TO GIVE There are many ways to give including Cash, Check, Credit or Debit Card, or Qualified Charitable Distribution. Anyone holding an IRA account is required to take an annual minimum distribution upon reaching age 72. That distribution is fully taxable as income. Another option is to donate that distribution (or a portion of it) directly to a qualified charitable organization and avoid paying taxes on any funds donated.
Consider contacting your investment manager today and request that your “Qualified Charitable Donation” be made directly to the Swedish Historical Society, 404 S. Third Street, Rockford, IL 61104. Request that your gift be identified with your name, address, and your intention to use it as a 2024 IRA QCD.
