“Fika” också I USA

Dessutom kom för fyra år sedan boken ”Fika – made in Sweden” av Stina Almroth, doktor i filosofi från Cornell University. I boken har jag skrivit förordet. Boken handlar om fikats speciella roll i Sverige, t ex när talmannen bjöd alla partiledare på fika under regeringsbildningen 2018.

                           IN HONOR OF FIKA
“Fika” has a long history in Scandinavia.  It continues with strong traditions in Rockford.  Now the Swedish Historical Society would like to celebrate this tradition.  We would welcome your fika photos – past or present.  We will assemble the photos in a special frame at the Nordic Center and unveil them at the spring ArtScene!

Don’t have a fika photo but want to be represented?
No problem!  Get your friends or family together, have a fika and send us a photo of that. Tell us any information you have about the photo sent.

Here are the best ways to share your photos with us:
  1. Email museum@swedishhistorical.org with your photos and any descriptions you have available
  2. Drop photos into this shared Google Drive using the link: http://bit.ly/3YXNxPM
  3. Mail us a copy of the original to 404 S. 3rd Street, Rockford, IL 61104

"Coffee" also in the USA

In addition, the book "Fika - made in Sweden" by Stina Almroth, doctor of philosophy from Cornell University, came out four years ago. In the book, I have written the foreword. The book is about coffee's special role in Sweden, for example when the speaker invited all party leaders to coffee during the formation of the government in 2018. https://www.adlibris.com/se/bok/fika-made-in-sweden-9789198628500
