Join us on Sunday, September 13th at 4 pm for our first annual Kubb & Knytkalas at the Nordic Cultural Center.

This is a very casual evening for our members of the Swedish Historical Society and it's a family gathering so bring your family! We have had a lot of new members join SHS and re-join SHS this last year and we felt this would be a great time to get (re-) acquainted.

Join us on Saturday, October 24th at 10 am to hear Kathi Kresol share some of the fascinating stories she has discovered in her research of the historic Scandinavian Cemetery.

​These stories will delve into the history of these sometimes flamboyant and quirky people who helped settle the Rockford area. There will be tales of how they lived and, in some cases, the mysterious ways they died.
