Kathi Kresol has been researching the history of Northern Illinois for more two decades. Kathi uses the stories she uncovers in her research for articles and presentations. She has published three solo books “Murder and Mayhem in Rockford, Illinois,” (2015); and Haunted Rockford, Illinois,” (2017) and her latest project “Haunted Rock River Valley” (August 2026).
Kathi was also chosen as one of Rockford’s Most Interesting People of 2023 in the Northwest Quarterly Magazine for her work at the library and as a local author. She considers it an honor that so many people attend her presentations and events.
